Breaux Bridge A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm, on Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Teche Baptist Church in Breaux Bridge, for William "Billy" Shirley, 77, who passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA. Rev. Joe Jenkins, Pastor, and Rev. Bill Inman, Associate Pastor, will conduct the Memorial Service. Mr. Shirley was an educator for 34 years in Beauregard Parish. After his retirement he was employed by Mobile Health Testing Services for 15 years and later worked at WalMart in the hardware department for 2 years. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Beauregard School Employees Federal Credit Union for 36 years and the Grand Lodge of the State of Louisiana for 51 years. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Cooley Shirley of Breaux Bridge, LA; two daughters, Lisa Shirley Kiper and her husband, Malcolm of Three Rivers, TX, and Lynnette Shirley Allemond and her husband, Chris of Henderson, LA; his sister, Gail Sadden and her husband, Dean of DeRidder, LA; his grandson, Daniel Allemond and his fiance, Maggie Jarreau; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Earl "Bill" Shirley, Sr. and Gladys Shirley; and his brother, Charles Lee Shirley.
