Willis Touchet

New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Iberia for Willis Touchet, 86, who died Monday, November 19, 2012 in New Iberia. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Ed Duhon will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 12 Noon until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd., New Iberia, LA 70560, 337.365.3331. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Friday. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8:00 AM until 10:45 AM. A native of Henry, Mr. Touchet was born on February 14, 1926 to Eupheman and Celestine Suire Touchet. He worked for the Rainbow Paper Company for 39 years, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Mr. Touchet had a passion for French music, having played the fiddle for over 64 years and was a member of the Touchet Brothers Band. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Guidry Touchet of New Iberia; daughters, Gayle Thorne and husband William, Brenda Stevens and husband Kyle, Karen Carlin and husband Terry all of New Iberia; brother, Arconage Touchet of New Iberia; sister, Eva Delcambre of New Iberia; grandchildren, Robert Thorne, Ryan Thorne, Grant Thorne, Kevin Thorne, Jeremy Watkins, Jason Stevens, Ross Stevens, Kylie Stevens, Brett Carlin, Cassie Carlin; great grandchildren, Hanah Thorne, Lawren Thorne, Gaige Thorne, Luke Watkins, Nicholas Watkins, Andrew Thorne, Triston Thorne, Tyler Thorne, Tanner Thorne, Gavyn Stevens, Landon Stevens, and Chase Stevens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Icay Touchet, Iday Touchet, Elier Touchet; sisters, Lilly Gaspard, Edia LaBove, Olin Conner, Avenia Melancon, Avita Touchet, and Avelia Touchet. Pallbearers will be Ryan Thorne, Kevin Thorne, Grant Thorne, Jeremy Watkins, Jason Stevens, Ross Stevens, Brett Carlin, and Jacques Bourque. Honorary pallbearer will be Robert Thorne.
