Yola Theriot Courville

Catahoula - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Monday, October 28, 2013, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula, for Yola Theriot Courville, 95, who passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 1:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Sunday, and continue at 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Sunday. Rev. Richard Fabre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. Mrs. Courville was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who worked alongside her husband, Joseph, during their 75 years of marriage. She enjoyed tending to her animals, collecting eggs from her chickens, picking pecans, and making pralines - her pralines were the best of all! Yola lived her life for her beautiful family and looked forward to spending time with them on any given occasion. She is survived by five sons, David Courville of Marrero, Dennis (Margaret) Courville of Lake Dauterive, Raymond (companion, Peggy) Courville of Lake Martin, Jimmy (companion, Cindy) Courville of Parks, and Brannon (Lou) Courville of Catahoula; four daughters, Eula Mae Champagne of St. Martinville, Una (Walter) Borrel of Lafayette, Deana (Carroll) Broussard of Broussard, and Brenda (Allen) Thibodeaux of Texas; her brother, Douglas (Lou) Courville of Cecilia; sister-in-law, Chris Courville of Cecilia; 51 grandchildren, 95 great grandchildren, and 62 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Courville; her parents; Alexson and Adolphina Courville Theriot; three sons, Willis, John, and Daniel Courville; a daughter, Eunice Barras; four grandchildren, Glenn, Wayne, and Kim Barras, and Paula Courville; five brothers, Adam, Wade, and Dovic, Nicholas Theriot, and Donald Courville; and three sisters, Marie Sonnier, Yalon Rodriguez, and Alida Kilgor.
